General Meetings

General Meetings provide an opportunity for group education about gun policy issues, strategy discussions, skills and movement-building work, committee updates, and financial reports. General Meetings held the first Monday of every month at Springfield Friends Meeting House/Peace Center of Delaware County, 1001 Old Sproul Road, Springfield PA 19064, The meetings begin at 7:00 PM and end promptly at 9:00 PM.  The meetings are open and participatory, and individuals who have signed on to our mission statement are welcome to participate in any group decisions made at the meetings.

Steering Committee
Delaware County United for Sensible Gun Policy’s leadership body is a 9-person Steering Committee that is charged with overseeing the group’s organizational, financial, and programmatic affairs; for developing agendas for the General Membership Meetings; for sharing facilitation of the General Membership Meetings; and for making emergency decisions between General Membership Meetings.  The original members were affirmed at the founding meeting of the organization on June 3, 2013 and will serve for one-year terms.

Steering Committee Members:  Terry Rumsey, Robin Lasersohn, Romie Griesmer, Elaine Vetre, Margaret Camp, Eleanor Skale, Carol Seeley, Dassette Cameron, and Larry Lipton.

Co-Chairs
The Co-Chairs of the organization are Terry Rumsey and Robin Lasersohn. The Co-Chairs are responsible for the day-to-day coordination and management of the group’s organizational, financial, and programmatic affairs and for developing the agendas for and facilitating Steering Committee meetings. Terry Rumsey and Robin Lasersohn have worked as community organizers and have led several grassroots advocacy organizations in Delaware County over the past 25 years. Terry is self-employed as a grant developer for his own company, Green Seeds, which serves non-profit organizations. Robin also works as a grant writer for Green Seeds and teaches part-time at The School in Rose Valley.
