Next General Meeting: Students Rise Up!

Delco United General Meeting: Students Rise Up!

Monday, March 5th, 7:00 PM

Unitarian-Universalist Church of Delaware County

145 W. Rose Tree Rd, Media, PA 19063

In the wake of the Parkland shooting, high schools students around the nation –and here in Delco — are getting organized and active around gun policy reform. Their vocal insistence that adults put their safety before the interests of the gun lobby has inspired our movement, forced many elected officials to change their positions, and has the NRA quaking in their boots!

Delco United has been working with local student leaders and educators to send student buses to Washington, D.C. for the March for Our Lives on 3/24. Students are filling buses from Chester, Penncrest, Haverford, and Strath Haven, and more inquiries are coming every day.  On their own, students are also mobilizing for a national school walk-out on 3/14.

At our next general meeting, come hear from a panel of local students who have taken up the challenge of the Parkland survivors. Hear how we can support them – and them us – in this now-exploding effort to finally, finally bring some common sense to this nation’s regulation of guns.

Our general meetings ordinarily take place at Springfield Friends Meeting House, but because of the anticipated size of the meeting, we have moved the location to the Unitarian-Universalist Church of Delaware County, 145 W. Rose Tree Rd, in Media.
