On Saturday, June 28, 2014, Delaware County United for Sensible Gun Policy held a Walk & Rally for Universal Background Checks on Gun Sales. Turn out was amazing, and the collective demonstration of people power throughout the day was exactly what this movement needed. We are beginning to witness the elements we need for success: persistence, empowerment, and passion.

Thank you to the 40 supporters who attended the action at PA State Representative Stephen Barrar’s district office in Chadds Ford on January 30 and to the many well-wishers who expressed their solidarity but could not attend.

On December 7th, a coalition of 10 organizations, including Delaware County United for Sensible Gun Policy, hosted a memorial to the victims at Sandy Hook and to all victims of gun violence while calling for legislative action on universal background checks. The event, attended by 150 people, was held at Villanova University with the support of the Villanova University Center for Peace and Justice Education. The program featured Governor Ed Rendell, along with victims and survivors of victims of gun violence, musical presentations, and leaders in the gun violence prevention movement.
